Boosting efficiency in metrology

The transformation of processes and products requires not only innovation in manufacturing but also modernized approaches to metrology. To meet increasing demands, we at Booster are embracing new technologies that combine precision and efficiency.

The complex geometry of components in our production, for example scrolls , is characterized by numerous chamfers, edge breaks, and radii. This makes precise and reliable measurements indispensable and poses unique challenges for metrology.

Booster has implemented a state-of-the-art optical measurement system as solution. This innovative approach thourgh technology from Keyence reduces the measurement time per component to just 3 minutes—an impressive time savings of over 98% in comparison with tactile tools.

Simplifying measurement processes and using standardized fixtures allows us to align and reproduce components more precisely, enhancing accuracy and user-friendliness. In addition, stability and operability get significantly improved.

Getting the optical measurement system extended and standardized in our plant, we expect:

  • Faster measurement cycles, which significantly increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Standardized and reproducible processes, which ensure consistently high measurement accuracy.

With this methodology,  we take an important step toward the future, creating a metrology framework that not only meets current demands but also optimizes our production processes.

Integrating modern, precise, and efficient measurement tools and strategies is a critical success factor for designing the manufacturing of tomorrow.

Our experience with the optical measurement system demonstrates how technology supports to enable faster processes, improve quality, and optimize production.
